In
the early 1960s, Gilbert Valéry bought a 30 hectare winery
equipped with its own wine cellar in the Commune of Sérignan.
He further developed this vineyard & winery by buying more land
and building a bigger wine cellar in 1970 in the commune of Sauvian
with a capacity of 25 000 hectoliters.
Upon his death in 1974, his children took over the vineyard &
winery in order to continue his work. The 1970s being right in the
middle of a period of overproduction, they decided to reorganize
the vineyards rootstock and aim towards more quality production.
The Deux Ruisseaux Vineyard & Winery is currently planted with
noble and flavorful vines, such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Merlot,
Syrah, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Grenache. Taking advantage of its close partnership with the world-famous
Entreprise Skalli, it improved production by investing in modern,
high tech wine cellar equipment resulting in very high quality vinification.
The arrival of the new manager, Mr. Alméras, enabled the
winery to continue its trend towards reasoned, qualitative development
of the vineyard thanks to his skill, his thirst for innovation and
his constant quest for quality.
The
recent quality of the wines has finally enabled the winery to bottle
them for the very first time in 2002, a logical conclusion to all
the efforts made over the past 20 years.
