The
Deux Ruisseaux Vineyard & Winery has a total surface area of
140 ha of which 120ha are planted with vines, with 35ha on the argilo-calcareous
slopes and 85ha on the sandy alluvial plains. These two soils produce
two different appellations :
30 ha AOC,
80
ha VDPOC (Vins
de Pays dOc) grapevines.
White
grapevines:
35
ha of Chardonnay and 20 ha of Sauvignon
Red
grapevines:
21
ha of Cabernet-Sauvignon,
20 ha of Merlot,
10 ha of Syrah,
2 ha
of Grenache,
5 ha of Carignan,
3 ha of Alicante.
The
average yield of the vineyard is 8 500 hl per year.
All
of our vines are grown on wires and there are 5000 vine-plants per
ha in the plains and 6 200 on the slopes.
The
quality of our wines is achieved thanks to the vine-plants. In keeping
with our keen spirit of quality, we combine technology and labor
to cultivate the vineyard using reasoned viticulture methods to
enable the grapes to reach peak maturity, assisted by the hot and
dry Mediterranean climate.
All
viticultural operations: dressing, manuring, pruning, manual
lifting, topping, labor and gyro-spinning are performed in keeping
with our same spirit of quality. All the work on the vineyard is
entered into a computer database in order to ensure the best management
possible of the work.
The
companys employees as well as the managers receive training
each year allowing them to learn about the development of various
techniques. We are also in contact with the Chamber of Agriculture
and we make a special point of training young people in our company
(BTS interns).
